Hart, Kneeland & Poindexter were real estate agents and developers active in Hartford from 192 when the company was founded, until 1986 when Owen Hart remained as the sole partner. Records are extensive and include articles of incorporation, bill of sale, minutes, sales records, investment records, account books, leases, and files the firm kept on individual properties, both commercial and private. Of particular interest are the files in which the partners compiled zoning regulations, some zoning and development maps and a number of development plans for 61 Connecticut towns. Several other companies in which Owen Hart was involved include Westwood, Inc. and Blue Ridge Lane, Inc. Also of interest are real estate atlases for 11 towns, topographic maps, advertising brochures for developments, a 1931 Hartford County atlas, and drawings and elevations for a development proposed for 50 Simsbury Road.
